Elizabeth is a Professor of Parasitology, Faculty of Science, Gulu University. Elizabeth has served in various capacities at Gulu. She was Director, Institute of Research and Graduate Studies (2012-17), Acting Director of the same institute (2011-2012) and Deputy Dean, Faculty of Science (2009-2011). Her research interests are mainly around Vectors and vector-borne Neglected Tropical Diseases, Peace and reconciliation and environment.  

Elizabeth has been behind many international and national collaborative research projects, forums and publications. She love to work with younger professionals and has supervised and supported many graduate students (including for MSc and PhD studies) from universities in Africa and Europe.

Elizabeth is the Work Package Lead for WP7 “Research Capacity Building and Organization”. The objective of WP7 is to build a community of practice at GU with stakeholders on green charcoal innovations developing into an interdisciplinary Center of Excellence on inclusive innovation, sustainable development and climate mitigation, and hereby improving visibility and ranking of Gulu University with regards to academic achievements, community and public engagement.

This would be achieved through the recruitment and organization of Cross-cutting and specialized interdisciplinary training workshops for students, ensuring ethical conduct of research, Media and art involvement, workshops, conferences and publications of research findings that will come from the project.
